Rashmika Mandanna on Playing a Vampire in ‘Thama’: “It Was a Completely New and Challenging Experience” | Udaipur Kiran

Mumbai, October 28 (Udaipur Kiran). Actress Rashmika Mandanna is currently enjoying the success of her recently released film Thama, in which she plays the role of a vampire — a first in her career. Speaking about her experience, Rashmika said portraying such a character was both creatively thrilling and deeply challenging.

Sharing her thoughts, Rashmika said, “Thama was an exciting experience for me creatively. Playing a vampire was something I had never done before. I didn’t know how to portray a creature like a vampire or a mythical being. It was completely new and quite complex for me.”

She described the process as fascinating and said that working on such roles allows her to learn new things. “Performing regular characters brings its own joy, but when you get something entirely different and challenging, the excitement is on another level,” she added.

The actress also said she found the transformation process for this role particularly engaging. “When you play a human character, it’s different, but stepping into the skin of a supernatural being gives a new kind of thrill and happiness,” Rashmika explained.

Expressing gratitude towards her team, she said, “I’m thankful to producer Amar Kaushik and director Aditya Sarpotdar for guiding and supporting me throughout. Their vision made it possible for me to bring this unique character to life.”

Rashmika revealed that she started from scratch for the role, with no prior reference or experience to rely on. “I had no idea how to approach it or how much effort it would take. But with my director’s guidance and the team’s support, everything came together beautifully,” she said.
