Jaipur, October 26 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough, Jhunjhunu police have arrested the main conspirator who arranged the attackers involved in the murder of history-sheeter Danish Bavariya. Acting under the direction of Superintendent of Police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay and supervision of Additional SP (Headquarters) Devendra Singh Rajawat, Kotwali police, led by SHO Harjinder Singh, apprehended Jitendra alias Joni Meghwal (22), a resident of Gothra village. With this arrest, police have so far detained six accused persons in the case.
According to police, the incident occurred on October 20, when Danish alias Naresh Kumar was travelling in a Scorpio car with his associates, carrying firecrackers and ₹3 lakh in cash. Near the Churu bypass liquor outlet, members of the Mandeep alias Madia gang, travelling in three camper vehicles, intercepted Danish’s car, rammed it, and assaulted him brutally with iron pipes. The gang abducted Danish, looted his gold chain, ring, and ₹3 lakh, and later dumped him near Rasoda village.
Danish, who sustained serious injuries, was referred to SMS Hospital, Jaipur, where he gave a statement to police before succumbing to his injuries the next day. Following his death, the case was converted into a murder charge.
During the investigation, it was revealed that gang leader Mandeep alias Madia had arranged for the attackers — Ajay Kumar alias Ajju, Tarachand, Pankaj Jat, and others — through Jitendra alias Joni, who was already associated with the gang.
A day before the murder, on October 19, Mandeep asked Jitendra to bring 4–5 men willing to join the gang for money. Jitendra then lured his friends Ajay Kumar, Tarachand, Pankaj Jat, and Dharmpal with financial promises and introduced them to Mandeep at Royal Treat Hotel, Sitasar. There, along with Deepak Malsaria, they planned and executed the attack, abduction, and eventual murder of Danish Bavariya.
The key conspirator Jitendra alias Joni, son of Omprakash and resident of Chodhani ki Dhani, Gothra police station area, was arrested on Saturday. He has been remanded to five days’ police custody for further interrogation. Police are now probing deeper to identify all individuals involved and uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
