Amazon Web Services down: Thousands of users across world report multiple service outage

Amazon Web Services are down globally. According to Downdetector – the website performance tracking website, over 15,000 users across different regions are impacted by the outage. The company has confirmed the service outage. “We can confirm increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS Services in the US-EAST-1 Region,” AWS status page reads. As per Downdetector, the outage began around 8 AM UK time (12:30 pm IST), with the website showing a sharp rise in outage. Users have also reported issues with several services and websites including Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, Duolingo, and Ring that depend on Amazon’s cloud system.

Amazon confirms AWS outage

“This issue may also be affecting Case Creation through the AWS Support Center or the Support API. We are actively engaged and working to both mitigate the issue and understand root cause. We will provide an update in 45 minutes, or sooner if we have additional information to share,” the page further states.Meanwhile, PerplexityAI is also facing a downtime. CEO Aravind Srinivas shared a post on X stating: “Perplexity is down right now. The root cause is an AWS issue. We’re working on resolving it.”(This is a developing story)
