Rural Students Paint Udaipur in Colors of Creativity Ahead of Diwali | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, October 18 (Udaipur Kiran): As Udaipur lights up ahead of Diwali, students from the Government Senior Secondary School, Varda, added their own touch of color and creativity to the City of Lakes. Under the guidance of their teacher and craftsman Hemant Joshi, the students explored the city and participated in the ‘Rangat – Rasta Ri’ Art Festival, celebrating the theme of “Light and Colors of Udaipur.”

During the event, the students showcased their artistic talent at the RTO underpass, which has recently been beautified under the UDA’s initiative. They painted vibrant murals on themes such as folk life, environmental protection, cleanliness, and cultural unity, blending rural simplicity with imaginative expression.

Rural Creativity Wins Hearts in the City

Festival coordinator Sunil S. Laddha said that the biggest achievement of ‘Rangat – Rasta Ri’ was bringing art from villages to the city and connecting rural talent with an urban platform.
“These children’s imagination and enthusiasm prove that art is not confined to a place or privilege — it lives in every heart,” he said.

A Journey of Learning and Inspiration

School Principal Sandeep Ameta shared that the students also visited Fatehsagar, Shilpgram, and other key attractions in Udaipur. At Shilpgram, they interacted with local and national artists, learned about traditional crafts, and drew inspiration from their creative journeys.

For many of these students, it was their first experience of witnessing such a large art event and exploring the beauty of Udaipur up close. Filled with joy, they described the experience as “the most beautiful gift before Diwali.”
