Jaipur, October 18 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough against organized crime, the Govindgarh Police in Alwar district have busted a gang that posed as police officers to kidnap people and extort ransom. Two key accused have been arrested in connection with the case.
According to District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary, the operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional SP (Rural) Dr. Priyanka, Circle Officer Kailash Jindal, and SHO Banne Singh.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Sajid, a resident of Dhandholi, who reported that on June 28, four to five men arrived at his e-Mitra shop in a vehicle fitted with a red beacon. The men, pretending to be Haryana Police officials, kidnapped him and also looted cash, a mobile phone, and a computer from his shop.
The victim’s family later paid ₹4 lakh ransom to secure his release. The payment was allegedly made to Asloop alias Kala of Dhandholi and Sajid alias Kala of Husainpur.
Acting on technical inputs and intelligence, the Govindgarh Police arrested two accused on October 18 — Sajid alias Kala Mev (32), son of Innas Khan, resident of Husainpur, Police Station Sikri, District Deeg, and Nirju Gurjar (34), son of Vasudev, resident of Kanwara, Police Station Kama, District Deeg.
Police said that interrogation is underway to trace other gang members and uncover similar incidents committed by the group in the district.
The operation team included ASI Heeru Lal, and constables Dhirendra Singh, Shrinath, Brijesh Kumar, Rajveer, and Mohammad Sharif.
