Jaipur, October 17 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Kota unit, on Friday arrested Home Guard Platoon Commander Gajendra Singh and Home Guard Akhtar Hussain for allegedly taking a ₹4,000 bribe in Baran district. The arrest was made during a trap operation conducted under the direction of the ACB Headquarters.
According to Additional Director General of Police (ACB) Smita Srivastava, the Kota ACB received a complaint alleging that Platoon Commander Gajendra Singh, through his associate Akhtar Hussain, was demanding a portion of the complainant’s training honorarium as bribe. The accused allegedly threatened that if the bribe was not paid, the complainant would not be assigned any future Home Guard duties.
Following the verification of the complaint, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB Kota) Anish Ahmed, under the supervision of DIG Anand Sharma and Additional SP Vijay Swarnkar, laid a trap. During the operation, Akhtar Hussain was caught red-handed accepting ₹4,000 on behalf of Platoon Commander Gajendra Singh as a bribe for assigning duty.
After confirming Singh’s involvement in the bribe transaction through recorded communication, the ACB detained and arrested him for further questioning.
DIG Anand Sharma stated that both accused are currently being interrogated, and further investigation is underway. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and additional inquiries are being conducted to determine the full extent of the corruption network.
