IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Match Day 3: India target early breakthroughs to tighten grip against West Indies

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Match Day 3: India extended their dominance over West Indies in the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, with spinners regularly striking to dent the visitors’ reply. At stumps, West Indies were 140/4, trailing India by 378 runs after a commanding first-innings total of 518/5 declared.

Skipper Shubman Gill scored a fluent unbeaten 129, his fifth hundred as Test captain, following the dramatic run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 175. Ravindra Jadeja, who took three wickets, said, ā€œMisunderstandings happen and it’s part of the game. Thankfully we are in a good position.ā€ He added that India would try to dismiss the tourists early on day three despite limited spin on the wicket.

West Indies offered resistance through Tagenarine Chanderpaul (34) and Alick Athanaze (41), but both fell to India’s spinners, while Roston Chase was dismissed for a duck. John Campbell’s brief innings ended in a remarkable reflex catch by Sai Sudharsan at forward short-leg off Jadeja.

Gill, in his 10th Test century, combined with Dhruv Jurel (44) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (43) to build crucial partnerships, hitting 16 fours and two sixes. West Indies spinners Jomel Warrican and Khary Pierre applied themselves, acknowledging the challenging pitch.

India’s spinners and batting firepower have left West Indies struggling to stay afloat. With a commanding lead and consistent wicket-taking ability, India remain strong favourites to sweep the two-match series, having already won the opener by an innings.
