Hindustan Zinc’s Zawar Group of Mines Hosts Workshop on Safety and Innovation | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran): Hindustan Zinc’s Zawar Group of Mines organized a workshop under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) at the Executive Club, Zawar Mines, focusing on technological advancements in Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM).

The workshop witnessed active participation from DGMS officials, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners, and technical teams from Hindustan Zinc. The sessions featured in-depth discussions, presentations, and interactive exchanges on innovation, safety, and operational excellence in the mining sector.

Prominent attendees included R.T. Mandekar (DDG, DGMS), J.P. Verma (DMS, DGMS), Sandeep Srivastava (DMS, DGMS), Vinod Rajk (DMS, DGMS), Tom Mathew (DMS, DGMS), Sanket Kumar (DDMS, DGMS), Sameer Saurabh (DDMS, DGMS), K. Vijay Kumar (DDMS, DGMS), and Tammalla Vasu (DDMS, DGMS). From Hindustan Zinc, Kishor S (COO) and Anshul Kumar Khandelwal (IBU CEO, Zawar) were present.

During the workshop, participants explored critical topics such as enhancing HEMM safety standards, best practices for OEM maintenance, adoption of collision avoidance systems, and integration of automation and digital technologies in underground mining equipment.

The sessions also covered regulatory compliance, DGMS approval processes, and standardization of safety mechanisms to ensure world-class operational practices.
