Father Charged in Rape Case of 3.5-Month-Old Infant; Charge Sheet Filed in 18 Days | Udaipur Kiran


Chittorgarh, October 2 (Udaipur Kiran News): In a shocking case from Chittorgarh, police have filed a charge sheet within 18 days against a man accused of raping his 3.5-month-old daughter. The case, registered under POCSO Act, will now proceed for trial in court.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Manish Tripathi said that on September 7, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint at Kotwali Police Station, alleging that her husband had sexually assaulted their infant daughter, causing injuries.

The investigation was assigned to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Vinay Chaudhary, who recorded statements of the complainant, the accused’s father, and other independent witnesses. Based on the mother’s complaint, the infant’s medical report, and the accused’s suspicious behaviour, police detained and later arrested the father.

During the investigation, the accused was found guilty under Section 65(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 5(i)(m)(n)/6 of the POCSO Act. The charge sheet has now been submitted following approval from the SP’s office.

SP Manish Tripathi stated that the case has been taken up under the Case Officer Scheme to ensure speedy judicial proceedings and prompt justice.
