Workshop on “POCSO Act: Rights, Duties & Responsibilities” Held at Pacific School of Law | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran News): Pacific School of Law, Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University (PAHER), Udaipur, in collaboration with the Child Welfare Committee, Udaipur, successfully organized a one-day workshop on “POCSO Act: Rights, Duties & Responsibilities” on 27 September 2025.

The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a welcome address. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Sanjay Kumar Bhatnagar (Special Judge, POCSO Court, Udaipur), shared valuable insights on child safety and legal rights, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility in protecting children.

Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Sharma (Group President, Pacific Group of Institutions) guided students on the significance of legal awareness and the role of youth in ensuring child safety. Prof. Hemant Kothari (President, PAHER University) emphasized the need for students to work responsibly towards the holistic development and protection of children.

Key resource persons Mrs. Yashoda Pania (President, Child Welfare Committee, Udaipur) and Dr. Sangeeta Rao (Member, Child Welfare Committee, Udaipur) shared their experiences and expertise, enriching the session with practical insights.

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Pushpa Mehdu, Principal, Pacific School of Law. Faculty members Mrs. Kripa Jain, Dr. Pooja Sisodiya, Mr. Surendra Bhati, Ms. Parveen Kausar, Mr. Chirag Bhatnagar, and Mr. Ramchandra Paliwal actively contributed to the success of the event.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dhruval Shah (Assistant Professor, Pacific School of Law), who extended gratitude to all guests, speakers, faculty, students, and staff for their participation and support.

The workshop witnessed participation from over 100 attendees, including students, faculty, and non-teaching staff. It provided crucial legal awareness and encouraged participants to uphold their social and ethical responsibilities towards child safety and protection.
