Professional Artists Showcase ‘Developed India’ Theme at Shilpgram Painting Competition | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran News): Under the Seva Parv 2025 initiative, a Professional Artists’ Painting Competition themed “Viksit Bharat ke Rang Kala ke Sang” was successfully organized on Saturday at Shilpgram, Udaipur. The event was held under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and hosted by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur.

WZCC Director Furqan Khan informed that as part of the nationwide celebration of Seva Parv, the competition focused on the theme of a Developed India, encouraging artists to express their vision through creative artworks. The competition was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Madan Singh Rathore (Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur) and Aalay Mistry (Sculpture Artist) with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Artists created impressive paintings depicting various aspects of a progressive and developed India.

MP Mannalal Rawat Interacts with Artists

During the closing ceremony, Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat visited the Shilpgram campus, interacted with the participating artists, and appreciated their creativity. He also joined a cleanliness drive under the Swachhata Pakhwada initiative and appealed to all citizens to adopt cleanliness as a way of life, reinforcing the message of “Swachhata Hi Seva.”
Dr. Rawat also reviewed the art residency in progress at Shilpgram and observed the sculpture-making activities.

Painting Competition at Meera Girls College

Alongside the Shilpgram event, a college-level painting competition was also held at Government Meera Girls College, Udaipur. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Madan Singh Rathore and Principal Dr. Deepak Maheshwari in the presence of faculty members. The competition aimed to explore the imaginative vision of young artists. The artworks created will soon be displayed for public viewing.

The event was attended by Deputy Director Pawan Amaravat, Assistant Director (Finance & Accounts) Durgesh Chandwani, and Programme Executive Hemant Mehta, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mannalal Rawat praised the initiative, saying it provides a creative platform to express ideas of a Developed India and inspires people to integrate cleanliness and creativity into daily life.
