
Udaipur / Ajmer, September 23 (Udaipur Kiran): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first direct train service between Udaipur and Chandigarh on September 25, 2025, through video conferencing from Banswara. The initiative is part of the vision for a “Developed Rajasthan in a Developed India.”
On the launch day, welcome programmes will also be organised at Udaipur, Mavli Junction, and Bhilwara railway stations in the presence of local representatives. The regular operations of this train will commence from September 27, 2025.
The new service, named Udaipur City–Chandigarh Bi-Weekly Superfast Express, is expected to boost tourism along its route by directly connecting two major tourist destinations, Udaipur and Chandigarh.
Train Schedule and Route

Train No. 20989: Udaipur City–Chandigarh Superfast Express will depart every Wednesday and Saturday at 16:05 hrs, reaching Chandigarh at 09:50 hrs the next day.

Train No. 20990: Chandigarh–Udaipur City Superfast Express will leave every Thursday and Sunday at 11:20 hrs, arriving in Udaipur at 05:25 hrs the next day.
The train will halt at Rana Pratap Nagar, Mavli, Kapasan, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Bijaynagar, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Phulera, Jaipur, Gandhinagar Jaipur, Dausa, Bandikui, Rajgarh, Alwar, Rewari, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Jind, Narwana, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Ambala Cantt.
