
New Delhi, September 8 (Udaipur Kiran). Pakistan lifted the tri-nation T20 series trophy on Sunday night in Sharjah after defeating Afghanistan by 75 runs in the final, thanks to a brilliant hat-trick and a five-wicket haul from Mohammad Nawaz. The third team in the tournament was the UAE.
Batting first, Pakistan posted 141/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 27, while Nawaz contributed a vital 25 runs. For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan picked up 3 wickets and Noor Ahmad claimed 2.
Chasing 142, Afghanistan faltered from the very start and were bowled out for just 66 runs in 15.5 overs — their second-lowest total in T20 internationals. Shaheen Afridi struck early by dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over, before Abrar Ahmed and Nawaz ripped through the middle order.
Nawaz completed his hat-trick in the sixth and seventh overs, dismissing Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Ibrahim Zadran in quick succession. He finished with outstanding figures of 5/19. Sufiyan Muqeem and Abrar Ahmed supported well with two wickets each.
With a dominant bowling performance, Pakistan sealed a comfortable 75-run win to claim the tri-series championship.
