Ara: One youth was drowned and another remained missing after three friends riding a motorcycle were swept away by strong currents while trying to cross floodwater near a river diversion in Bhojpur district on Tuesday.The incident took place on Shahpur-Banahi road near Chher river diversion. According to police, the three youths, residents of nearby Rudrapur village, were riding a motorcycle when they attempted to cross the flooded stretch near the diversion. The strong current swept all three away. Local residents managed to rescue one of them, while one was feared drowned.Shahpur SHO Santosh Kumar Singh said the body of 21-year-old Sachin Rawani was recovered on Tuesday afternoon with the help of local divers and an SDRF team. “Efforts are on to trace the other missing youth, Sandeep Rawani (20),” he said.Both Sachin and Sandeep belonged to Shovitola village of Shahpur nagar panchayat under Shahpur police station. Police said Sachin was the only son of his parents.
