In a story shared on Instagram, while resting in bed, the actor revealed that malaria had left him not just fatigued but visibly diminished in strength and muscle.“Malaria took a little more out of me than I expected. Lost 2.5 kg of muscle and a fair bit of strength. But I know this body. In severe cases, muscle oxygen levels can drop to levels seen in patients battling sepsis, one of the body’s most dangerous inflammatory responses.Rhabdomyolysis is a condition where damaged muscle breaks down and releases its contents into the bloodstream, this breakdown can overwhelm the kidneys, sometimes leading to kidney failure.

How effectively malaria can be treated?

The good news is that malaria is preventable, and health organizations around the world are working hard to prove it. Programs distribute insecticide-treated bed nets and preventive medications to at-risk communities, giving people a fighting chance before infection even has the chance to take hold.In a major step forward, the World Health Organization has recommended a malaria vaccine which will be specifically for children living in regions where the disease hits hard.It’s a reminder that malaria isn’t just a disease of fever and fatigue. It can quietly damage the body’s internal machinery in ways that aren’t always obvious until complications set in.
