Patna, July 12: The Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishor has come under fire from the Janata Dal (United) [JDU] during the Bankipur Assembly by-election. JDU’s chief spokesperson, Neeraj Kumar, remarked that Kishor is struggling to gather supporters for his campaign, leading him to seek votes from animals and plants at the Patna zoo.
In a conversation with reporters, Kumar stated, “The BJP candidate (Abhishek Kumar Sinha) withdrew his nomination, and suddenly a political worker (Neeraj Kumar Sinha) was made the candidate. It seems Prashant Kishor is getting anxious.”
Kumar further added, “Kishor’s situation is such that he is asking for votes even in a botanical garden, disturbing visitors. He is seeking votes from lions, leopards, rats, cats, and plants because he cannot find people to campaign for him.”
Responding to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement about the misuse of temple donations during the Samajwadi Party’s rule, Kumar said, “People build mosques with private funds. The government manages the encroachment of cemeteries. I am not sure in what context this statement was made. However, under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the government has worked on the encroachment of temples, cemeteries, churches, and gurdwaras. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is also overseeing these efforts.”
On reports of internal strife within the Punjab Congress, JDU’s spokesperson commented, “The Congress is gradually becoming a regional party. This seems to be the reason Rahul Gandhi postponed his visit to Bihar. While the people of Bihar may not witness the political drama here, they are certainly observing the events happening in Punjab.”
Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to New Zealand, Kumar stated, “No Prime Minister has visited New Zealand in 40 years. He met with Indian citizens there, which is a matter of pride for both nations. Prime Minister Modi has set new standards in diplomatic tradition and policy, for which we express our gratitude.”
