Xi Jinping Issues Key Directives Following Tragic Fire in Xinjiang Factory


Beijing, July 10: A severe fire broke out at a shoe factory in Xinjiang, southeastern China, on July 9, resulting in the confirmed deaths of 28 individuals. In the aftermath of this tragedy, Chinese President Xi Jinping issued important directives, urging for thorough search and rescue operations and a swift investigation into the causes of the incident, holding responsible parties accountable.

Xi emphasized that this year has seen numerous significant production safety incidents across the country. He called on various sectors and departments to take serious lessons from these events, ensuring a better balance between development and safety. He stressed the importance of maintaining safe production practices at all times, conducting in-depth inspections of various risks, and strengthening the implementation of safety measures. The goal is to prevent major incidents and enhance the protection of public lives and property.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang also provided directives regarding the incident.
