
UDAIPUR, July 4, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Hindustan Zinc Limited has launched Suraksha Plus, a safety awareness initiative designed for women working professionals, at its corporate office in Udaipur. Organised on the occasion of International Day of Women in Mining, the initiative aims to enhance awareness, preparedness and confidence among women employees.
The expert-led session covered personal safety, situational awareness, workplace safety protocols, travel and commuting safety, cyber security, emergency response measures and self-defence strategies.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Amrita Duhan appreciated Hindustan Zinc’s practical step towards strengthening safety awareness among women professionals. She said that women’s safety is not only about responding to incidents but is also linked to awareness, confidence and preparedness. She added that initiatives such as Suraksha Plus play an important role in enabling women to identify risks, take informed action and seek timely assistance.
Around 150 women employees from various Hindustan Zinc locations participated in the hybrid session. This included nearly 50 participants at the corporate office and more than 100 participants who joined online.
Through practical guidance, real-life examples and interactive discussions, the session helped participants strengthen their safety preparedness both at work and beyond.
The Suraksha Plus programme will be conducted in phases across all Hindustan Zinc locations, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and empowering workplace for women.
