India-Oman Air Force Officials Meet to Enhance Defense Cooperation


Muscat, July 4: Indian Air Force Air Vice Marshal S.K. Talyan and Royal Air Force of Oman Air Commodore Khalid Mohammed Abdullah Al Abri discussed enhancing mutual cooperation between the two nations during their meeting. The focus was on interoperability, joint training, and strengthening professional exchanges.

The Indian Air Force announced on the social media platform ‘X’ that the 11th Air Staff Talks between India and Oman took place in Muscat from July 1 to 2. The discussions were co-chaired by Air Vice Marshal S.K. Talyan and Air Commodore Khalid Mohammed Abdullah Al Abri.

The talks aimed to further strengthen collaboration between the two countries, enhance joint training, and improve professional exchanges, with the goal of reinforcing defense relations and advancing shared national objectives.

During the visit, the Indian Air Force delegation also toured Oman’s modern training and maintenance facilities. On Thursday, Air Vice Marshal Talyan met with India’s Ambassador to Oman, Prashant Pise, to discuss the progress of India-Oman defense cooperation.

According to the embassy, Air Vice Marshal Sanjeev Kumar Talyan, who serves as the Assistant Chief of Air Staff (International Defense Cooperation) in the Indian Air Force, engaged in discussions with the ambassador regarding the advancements in defense collaboration between India and Oman.

The embassy highlighted that Oman is India’s closest defense partner in the Gulf region, and defense cooperation has become a crucial part of their strategic relationship. Oman is the first Gulf nation with which all three branches of India’s armed forces conduct joint exercises. In recent years, both countries have also collaborated to enhance maritime security in the Indian Ocean region.
