Sai Sudharsans Second Consecutive Century Strengthens India As Position


Galle, July 3: Sai Sudharsan’s impressive century has put India A in a strong position against Sri Lanka A in the second unofficial Test. At the end of the second day’s play, India A scored 247 runs for the loss of one wicket. The left-handed opener, Sudharsan, achieved his second consecutive century, remaining unbeaten at 104 runs off 184 balls, including 13 boundaries. He is currently at the crease with Devdutt Padikkal, who is close to his own century, scoring 94 runs off 151 balls with 11 fours. Together, they have built a partnership of 181 runs.

India’s only setback came when Aman Mokhade was dismissed for 38 runs off 48 balls, contributing to a 66-run opening partnership with Sudharsan.

Earlier, Sri Lanka A’s first innings concluded at 366 runs, with captain Sahan Arachchige scoring a remarkable century of 127 runs off 207 balls, featuring 2 sixes and 13 fours. Nuwandidu Fernando and Anjala Bandara also contributed with scores of 44 and 42 runs, respectively.

For India, Gurnoor Barar and Saransh Jain took 4 wickets each, while Yash Thakur claimed 2 wickets.

As play resumes on the third day, India will aim to establish a significant lead over Sri Lanka A to apply pressure in the second innings. Sudharsan will look to convert his century into a bigger innings, while Padikkal aims for a substantial score as well. Currently, India trails Sri Lanka by 119 runs.
