Telangana BJP Leader Madhavi Lata Wins Gold Medal in Shooting Championship

Hyderabad, July 1: Madhavi Lata, a leader of the BJP in Telangana and a social activist, has won a gold medal at the 12th Telangana State Shooting Championship. The competition took place at the Sats Shooting Range in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, where she excelled in the 25-meter pistol (Masters Women) event, scoring 245 out of 300 points to secure the top position.

Reflecting on her inspiration to take up shooting, Madhavi recalled her days as an NCC cadet, stating, “During Republic Day training, we practiced rifle shooting, which sparked my interest in this sport.”

Madhavi Lata previously contested the Hyderabad seat as a BJP candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She emphasized that her return to the shooting range is motivated by the belief that public representatives should set an example for society.

“A politician should be courageous and involved in sports to inspire the people. I asked myself, why should age be a barrier? If your mind is ready, you can achieve anything,” she said.

She also credited her coach, Prasanna, for her success. Despite suffering from a shoulder injury, she is currently preparing for upcoming competitions, focusing on special training for the pre-national championship scheduled in the next two months.

“Despite my shoulder injury, I am training in the gym for the pre-national. I want to show that determination can overcome any obstacle,” she added.

In a message shared on social media, Madhavi stated that the gold medal is not just her achievement. “This belongs to everyone who believed in me, encouraged me, prayed for me, and celebrated every step of my journey. To every woman chasing her dreams, I say, don’t let anyone define your limits. Trust yourself, work hard, and always set high goals.”
