Honey-trap and blackmailing racket busted in Alwar; woman among 3 held for extorting ₹30 lakh | Udaipur Kiran

Jaipur, October 24 (Udaipur Kiran News): The Shivaji Park Police in Alwar have busted a honey-trap and blackmailing gang that allegedly kidnapped a man, recorded obscene photos and videos, and tried to extort ₹30 lakh by threatening to implicate him in a false rape case. Police arrested three accused, including a woman, within 12 hours of the incident.

According to SP Sudhir Chaudhary, the case was registered after the victim reported being lured into a trap by the accused woman, Shahruna (33), who called him to her residence under the pretext of a medical consultation on October 22. As soon as the complainant reached the address near the RTO office, he was ambushed by the woman and her two accomplices — Wasim Khan alias Musa and Priyanshu Chaudhary alias Godhu.

Inside the room, the accused beat up the complainant, tore his clothes, and forced him to pose semi-naked with the woman while recording objectionable photos and videos. They then demanded ₹30 lakh, threatening to file a fake rape case if he refused to pay. Before fleeing, they also snatched his belongings and threw him out near the Paddisal road.

Arrest within 12 hours; accused tried to alter appearance

SP Chaudhary immediately ordered swift action upon receiving the complaint. Shivaji Park SHO Vinod Samariya and Vijay Mandir SHO Bharatlal led special police teams that used technical surveillance and intelligence inputs to trace the culprits.

Within just 12 hours, the teams successfully arrested all three accused

  • Wasim Khan alias Musa (18), resident of Vijay Mandir,

  • Priyanshu Chaudhary alias Godhu (21), resident of NEB area, and

  • Shahruna (33), the woman at the centre of the plot, who is reportedly married twice.

Police revealed that Priyanshu, the main accused, tried to evade arrest by shaving his head to change his appearance. He has a long criminal history with multiple cases already registered against him under assault, intimidation, and SC/ST Act provisions in various police stations.

The police have also recovered an Android mobile phone used in the blackmailing, along with the victim’s stolen gold locket.

SP Sudhir Chaudhary commended the teams for their prompt and coordinated effort, noting that the swift arrests prevented further exploitation by the gang, which is believed to have trapped several victims in the past using a similar modus operandi.
