Jaipur, October 9 (Udaipur Kiran) — The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jhunjhunu unit, has caught Deepak Tailor, a city-level technical expert associated with Surajgarh Municipality, red-handed while accepting a ₹10,000 bribe through a private company representative.
According to Additional Director General of Police (ACB), Smt. Smita Srivastava, the complaint was filed by a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), stating that ₹2.5 lakh had been sanctioned under the housing scheme. The complainant had already received ₹1 lakh, while the accused had allegedly demanded ₹40,000 to release the remaining ₹1.5 lakh.
During verification on October 6, 2025, accused Deepak Tailor demanded ₹10,000 as a part payment to process the next installment and an additional ₹10,000 for facilitating earlier payments. Following this confirmation, the ACB laid a trap today (October 9, 2025) and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of ₹10,000, which was recovered from his pant pocket.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of DIG (Jaipur Range) Rajesh Singh by ACB DySP Shabbir Khan and his team from Jhunjhunu.
Further interrogation of the accused is underway, and the ACB has registered a case under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The agency confirmed that follow-up investigation and necessary legal proceedings are currently in progress.
