Piyush Goyal Encourages MP Lead Fellows to Embrace Innovation for a Developed India


New Delhi, July 10: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal appreciated the visionary ideas, aspirations, and commitment of the MP Lead Fellows during a discussion on Thursday.

In a post on X, Goyal highlighted the transformative journey towards a developed India by 2047, the role of youth in nation-building, and the importance of active participation in shaping public policy.

He emphasized the significant contribution of MSMEs in accelerating innovation, entrepreneurship, job creation, and inclusive economic growth. Goyal urged the fellows to adopt innovation and meaningful public service, becoming active partners in the nation’s development journey.

He further stated that India’s greatest strength lies in its youth, expressing confidence that they will play a decisive role in shaping the country’s bright future.

On Wednesday, following a meeting with the leadership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Goyal mentioned that strengthening collaboration with ICAI could play a crucial role in boosting India’s economic growth and advancing global trade ambitions.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the government and the accounting profession to facilitate business and investment, thereby increasing India’s competitiveness in the global market. Goyal noted that the evolving role of the accounting profession in assisting businesses to capitalize on emerging global opportunities was also discussed.

He mentioned that both parties deliberated on increasing institutional participation in the framework of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Goyal emphasized that greater involvement from professional institutions like ICAI could help businesses better understand and leverage opportunities arising from India’s expanding network of trade agreements.

The discussions also covered the evolving role of the accounting profession in facilitating trade and investment, enhancing institutional participation in FTAs, and supporting businesses in seizing emerging global opportunities.
