Congress Government Must Go, Who Becomes CM Is Not Important: BY Vijayendra

Bengaluru, July 8: Karnataka BJP President and MLA BY Vijayendra stated on Wednesday that the question of who will become the Chief Minister is not significant. The crucial issue is that the people of Karnataka are fed up with the Congress government, which he labeled as ‘corrupt, anti-people, and anti-Hindu.’

Vijayendra was addressing a meeting regarding preparations for the South-East Graduates Constituency elections. Responding to statements from BJP leaders who referred to him as a future Chief Minister, he emphasized that such remarks stem from affection and trust but urged party leaders to focus on larger political goals.

He remarked, “Chandranna (BJP MLA M. Chandrappa) called me the future Chief Minister. This is a symbol of their affection and trust. Who becomes the Chief Minister is not important. What matters is that the people of Karnataka are angry with this corrupt, anti-people, and anti-Hindu Congress government.”

Vijayendra accused the state Congress government of mismanaging funds allocated for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). He stated that in such circumstances, the responsibility of BJP workers increases.

He asserted that the Karnataka Legislative Council should elect a capable individual who can effectively raise public issues. “The state assembly and council are temples of democracy, and the public wants representatives who can discuss significant issues related to the state and its people,” he added.

The BJP President noted that the South-East Graduates Constituency has been represented by the BJP for the last eight terms. He expressed concern over individuals seeking to enter the Legislative Council merely to fulfill personal political ambitions or due to political allure.

Vijayendra announced that the BJP has nominated KM Suresh as the NDA candidate for this seat, describing him as an honest worker who has dedicated decades to the education sector and selflessly served society.

With elections approaching and the number of registered voters expected to exceed 50,000, KM Suresh will need to campaign across five districts and 33 assembly constituencies within this constituency.

Vijayendra urged party leaders, especially those from Chitradurga district, to work more responsibly to ensure Suresh’s victory. He noted that despite the Congress being in power, the BJP has consistently won elections in the graduates and teachers’ constituencies.

However, he acknowledged that political circumstances have changed, with the ruling Congress conducting a voter registration campaign for several months. “There are still a few months left until the elections, and we must also accelerate voter registration and organizational activities,” he concluded.
