
BENGALURU, July 7, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Strand Life Sciences, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has received an Indian patent for a technology that can help detect cancer at an early stage and identify its possible source using only a blood sample.
According to the company, the platform analyses cell-free DNA and uses genome sequencing, biological data analysis and machine learning. The technology is designed to identify changes in DNA patterns associated with cancer, enabling the disease to be detected in its early stages and giving patients a better opportunity for treatment.
The company stated that a large number of cancer cases are currently diagnosed only after the disease has reached advanced stages.
Ramesh Hariharan said that the patent marks an important step in the development of artificial intelligence-based liquid biopsy technology. He said the company aims to develop solutions that can make cancer screening more accurate, scalable and accessible.
