India Opts to Bowl First in Third T20 Against England


Nottingham, July 7: India has won the toss and elected to bowl in the third match of the T20 series at Trent Bridge on Tuesday. The Indian team is currently trailing 0-1 in the five-match series and aims to level the score with a victory in this match.

The first match between the two teams ended in a no-result due to rain, while England took the lead by winning the second match in Manchester by four wickets.

After winning the toss, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer stated, “We will bowl first. It was just a small hiccup that you cannot control, but the players are in good spirits.”

Regarding Ravi Bishnoi, who conceded 60 runs in the last match, the captain mentioned, “Every player goes through such phases in their career. This is a great learning opportunity for him and the team. The pitch looks very good. Prince Yadav has replaced Ravi Bishnoi.”

On the other hand, England’s captain Harry Brook expressed, “We were unsure, but if we had won the toss, we would have batted first. With this team, we never feel out of the game. Every match against India or any other country is significant. We want to lead the series 2-0.”

In the second match played in Manchester, the Indian team scored 190 runs, losing seven wickets, with Ishan Kishan top-scoring with 49 runs, while Abhishek Sharma contributed 43 runs. England chased down the target in 19 overs, winning the match with four wickets remaining.
