A minor fire broke out in the property room on the third floor of the Nampally Criminal Court early on Monday, with preliminary investigations indicating that a short circuit may have caused the incident.
The Assembly Fire Station received a distress call at 12.40 a.m. and immediately rushed a fire engine to the spot. Firefighters brought the blaze under control, and the fire tender returned to the station at about 4 a.m.
Officials said the fire was confined to the property room, where seized case properties are stored. The damage was reported to be minimal and no injuries were reported.
Authorities suspect a short circuit triggered the fire, though the exact cause will be confirmed after further examination. An assessment of the affected property is underway.
