Calangute: Calangute police on Thursday registered a murder case against Akshata alias Rupashree for allegedly administering an intoxicating substance to Sandeep Salayam, 42. Salayam, a former driver of an ex-Karnataka minister, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a resort room at Umtawaddo, Calangute, on Tuesday.Police have also accused Rupashree of stealing Salayam’s gold chain after he fell unconscious and died. She has been missing since his body was discovered, and a police team has been sent to Mangaluru to trace her.Police said Salayam had travelled to Goa with his cousin and friends and allegedly spent two days with the woman in a room at the resort.On Tuesday, after Salayam failed to respond to repeated calls, his cousin went to check on him and found him dead in his room at 10pm.
