10 Arrested for Assault, Vandalism at JP Orthopedic Hospital | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur, June 5, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Ten persons, including the son of a patient, have been arrested in connection with the assault on doctors, vandalism, and property damage at JP Orthopedic Hospital in Udaipur. The action was taken by the SIT after identifying the accused through CCTV footage. Police said efforts are underway to trace other persons involved in the incident.

Station House Officer Sunil Charan said that a case was registered on the complaint of Dr. Jagdish Prasad Sharma, operator of JP Orthopedic Hospital located at Kumharon Ka Bhatta. The case was lodged against the patient’s relatives under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Rajasthan Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2008.

According to police, the accused allegedly assaulted Dr. Jagdish Prasad Sharma, his son Dr. Kanishk Sharma, Dr. Anush Jain and Dr. Naveen Goyal of Geetanjali Hospital, and IMA State President Dr. Anand Gupta, who had reached the spot to mediate during the disturbance. They are also accused of tearing clothes and carrying out extensive vandalism inside the hospital premises.

The arrested accused have been identified as Kamlesh Kumar Jain, son of Bhagwatilal Jain, resident of Bank Colony, Shanti Nagar, Sector 5; Lakshya Jain, son of Jambulal Jain, resident of Roop Nagar, Hiran Magri Sector 3; Akshat Jain, son of Kuldeep Jain, resident of Surya Nagar, Sector 3, Hiran Magri; Gaurav Jain, son of Mahavir Prasad Jain, resident of Roop Nagar, Sector 3; Ankit Jain, son of Dinesh Jain, resident of RHB Colony, Hiran Magri Sector 4; Sanad Kumar Jain, son of Manakchand Jain, resident of Mahavir Apartment, Sector 4; Rajesh Jain, son of Kantilal Jain, resident of Kashipuri, Sector 5, Hiran Magri; Rajat Jain, son of Mahavir Prasad Jain, resident of Roop Nagar, Sector 3; Ajit Jain, son of Sahiblal Jain, resident of Kartikeya Society, Sector 4; and Chandraprakash Jain, son of Narayanlal Jain, resident of RHB Colony, Sector 4, Hiran Magri.

In a separate action, the Superintendent of Police placed former Bhupalpura SHO Inspector Adarsh Kumar Parihar on line duty for alleged negligence in handling the matter. Inspector Sunil Charan has been assigned charge of Bhupalpura Police Station in his place.
