Farewell Programme at Udaipur Collectorate Sparks Discussion | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, May 25 (Udaipur Kiran) — A farewell programme organised for a senior police officer at the Udaipur Collectorate on Monday became a topic of discussion among visitors and local residents after public movement inside the premises remained affected for some time.

As Udaipur is the divisional headquarters, a large number of people visit the Collectorate daily for work related to various government departments. During the programme, many visitors reportedly faced inconvenience in reaching offices and completing official work.

The farewell ceremony was organised for senior police officer Gopal Swaroop Mewara, who is widely regarded for his soft-spoken behaviour and public-friendly working style during his tenure in Udaipur.

While several people appreciated the respect shown towards the officer, some residents felt that such programmes could also be organised at places like Police Lines or other venues to avoid inconvenience at important administrative centres like the Collectorate.

Some locals also expressed the view that officers with a positive public image should maintain distance from arrangements that may affect common people, so that the goodwill and respect earned among citizens continue to remain intact.
