The Warangal District Badminton Association (WDBA), affiliated to the Badminton Association of Telangana (BAT), organised the Warangal District Badminton Tournament-2026 for boys, girls, men and women at the Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), with around 300 players from the erstwhile Warangal district participating in the event.

Addressing the players at the valedictory function held on Saturday, DCP, Special Operation Team (SOT), Cyberabad, P. Shobhan Kumar, said sports and games should become part of the daily routine of youngsters to ensure physical fitness and mental well-being. He appreciated the organisers for conducting the tournament successfully.

Principal, KITS Warangal, K. Ashoka Reddy said the badminton academy had been providing infrastructure and encouragement to budding players for the past two decades, while WDBA president S. Ramesh Kumar said sports helped build confidence, discipline and a positive attitude among youngsters.

Vice-president of BAT and WDBA general secretary P. Ramesh Reddy said the winners would represent the district in State-level competitions.
