New Delhi, May 21: A complaint has been lodged against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the Tigri police station, following his alleged inappropriate remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Abhishek Dubey, spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Delhi, filed the complaint, demanding the registration of an FIR against Gandhi.
The complaint states that during a public event on May 20, Rahul Gandhi used objectionable language against the Prime Minister and Home Minister. The complainant argues that such language on a public platform violates democratic decorum.
It further claims that comments made against individuals holding constitutional positions or senior leaders of the country not only undermine their dignity but also increase the potential for societal tension and discord. Dubey emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum in public discourse to ensure a balanced and peaceful political environment.
He urged the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and register an FIR under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant legal provisions. Dubey also highlighted the necessity of such action to prevent similar language from being used on public platforms in the future.
The complaint mentions that such statements send a wrong message to society and can escalate political bitterness among the general public, thus necessitating immediate and strict action.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the police regarding this complaint.
