Jaipur, May 19 (Udaipur Kiran) — Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma on Tuesday chaired a statewide crime review meeting with range IGs, police commissioners, and district SPs through video conferencing, focusing on law and order, organised crime, road safety, cybercrime control, and women’s safety.
During the meeting, the DGP said the state government is following a zero-tolerance policy against illegal mining, gravel transportation, and corruption. He directed officers to ensure strict action with full commitment and also stressed aggressive campaigns against drug trafficking, increased field visibility of police, and stronger vigilance.
Rajeev Kumar Sharma instructed officers to ensure that no investigation pending for more than one year remains unresolved within the next three months. He also directed strict action against false cases.
Special emphasis was laid on organised crime and gangsters. The DGP reviewed ongoing action against criminal networks and directed affected districts to prepare focused action plans. He also reviewed seizure and attachment of properties acquired through criminal activities and called for more effective implementation.
The meeting included a review of the use of information and communication technology under new criminal laws, including e-summons, warrant execution, and online FIR registration systems.
The DGP instructed district-level officers to include important cases under the Case Officer Scheme to ensure quality investigation and speedy action. Range-wise area domination campaigns and disposal of seized material stored in police warehouses were also reviewed.
Expressing concern over higher road accident fatalities in Bhilwara and Udaipur regions, Rajeev Kumar Sharma directed district SPs to launch special campaigns. He instructed police to conduct dedicated helmet enforcement drives twice a week on highways and in rural areas and emphasised maximum use of interceptors and breath analysers for checking.
The DGP also ordered special arrangements in police lines and office premises to prevent police personnel from riding two-wheelers without helmets.
Cybercrime control and monitoring of complaints received on the 1930 cyber helpline were also reviewed. All SPs were directed to regularly monitor pending and resolved cyber complaints.
Rajeev Kumar Sharma further instructed police stations to encourage complainants to register complaints online so that they can receive regular updates regarding action taken on their cases.
