GSRTC Revamps Premium AC Bus Routes for Faster, Cheaper Travel

Ahmedabad, May 19: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has announced changes to the operating routes of several premium AC bus services, aimed at making travel easier and reducing costs for passengers. These changes were made under the directives of the Deputy Chief Minister.

Under the new arrangement, all premium AC buses operating between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar will now travel via the newly constructed Ahmedabad-Dholera Express Highway.

According to the corporation, this route change is expected to reduce travel time and operational costs. Some of these benefits have been passed on to passengers through a reduction in fares.

The new schedule includes a total of 24 buses running every hour between 5 AM and 6 PM, utilizing the expressway in both directions. Services on the Gandhinagar-Diu and Gandhinagar-Mahuva routes have also been integrated into this corridor. With the route change, the fare for the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar route has been reduced to ₹336, allowing passengers to save approximately ₹15 on each journey.

In another significant change, GSRTC has launched a new Volvo service on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This service operates as a non-stop premium service between Nehrunagar (Ahmedabad) and Surat, with the bus departing from Nehrunagar at 6:45 AM and returning from Surat at 1:00 PM.

The fare for this new route has been set at ₹687, which is expected to save passengers around ₹61 compared to previous services.

The corporation stated that the aim of introducing these services on the expressway network is to enhance connectivity between major cities in Gujarat and reduce travel time by utilizing the country’s improved infrastructure.

Tickets for these services are available for online advance booking through the official GSRTC website and the GSRTC mobile app. The corporation has urged passengers to use these digital platforms for booking and to take advantage of the new premium services.
