Teenagers Murdered in Jharkhand Shocks Community

Ranchi, May 18: A brutal double murder of two teenagers in Khunti district, Jharkhand, has sent shockwaves through the local community. The incident occurred in the Model Village Jivri area, where the victims were attacked with sharp weapons and their bodies discarded at the foot of the Marangburu hill.

On Monday, villagers alerted the police, leading to the recovery of the bodies. The deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Bisu Pahan and 17-year-old Sumi Munda. Reports indicate that a Chhau dance event was held in the Soyko area on Sunday night, which both Bisu and Sumi attended. Around 1 AM, Bisu reportedly got into an altercation with some youths.

As the dispute escalated, the assailants allegedly abducted both teenagers and took them to a nearby field, where they were brutally murdered. Following the crime, the perpetrators attempted to destroy evidence by disposing of the bodies at the hill’s base. Local residents discovered the bodies on Monday and promptly informed the police.

The Soyko police arrived at the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. After the autopsy, the remains were handed over to the families. Binshay Munda, the village head of Jivri, expressed concerns that the incident might be related to a romantic relationship. Khunti’s Superintendent of Police, Rishabh Garg, confirmed that both minors had attended the dance event and were murdered. The police are investigating all angles and have formed a special investigation team to identify and apprehend the suspects.
