Corrupt ASI Sunil Bishnoi Caught Taking Rs 1 Lakh Bribe in Udaipur | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur, May 17 (Udaipur Kiran) – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an assistant sub-inspector posted at Pratap Nagar Police Station while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

According to the ACB, Sunil Bishnoi was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the Udaipur unit of the bureau.

Director General of ACB Govind Gupta said the bureau had received a complaint on May 9 alleging that the accused officer, along with constables Shankarlal and Banwarilal, demanded money from the complainant in connection with a dispute involving a young woman.

The complaint alleged that the officers threatened that a molestation and rape case could be registered and demanded money in exchange for not filing the case and arranging a compromise between both parties. Initially, Rs 3 lakh was allegedly demanded, which was later reduced to Rs 1.30 lakh after negotiations.

During verification by the ACB team, Sunil Bishnoi allegedly accepted Rs 25,000 in cash and asked the complainant to arrange the remaining Rs 1 lakh at the earliest.

Under the supervision of Dr. Rameshwar Singh, the trap operation was carried out by ACB officer Anant Kumar and the Udaipur team.

The accused ASI was caught while allegedly accepting Rs 1 lakh from the complainant in the parking area of Orbit Resort in New Bhupalpura, Udaipur.

The ACB said detailed questioning and further investigation are continuing under the supervision of Additional Director General Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S Parimala.

Search operations are also being carried out at the residential premises of the accused officer.
