Noida, May 15: A crucial meeting regarding the “Noida Safe City Project” was held in the boardroom of the Noida Authority on Friday, aimed at enhancing the safety of women, children, and the general public. The meeting was chaired by Chief Executive Officer Krishna Karunesh.
During the meeting, various aspects of the project were discussed in detail. Attendees included Additional Chief Executive Officer Vandana Tripathi, Satish Pal, Special Executive Officer Kranti Shekhar, General Manager S.P. Singh, Senior Manager (V./Y.) Trivendra Kumar, representatives from the Greater Noida Authority, traffic police officials, and consultants appointed for the Noida and Greater Noida Safe City Project.
A comprehensive presentation was made by the consultants, outlining proposals and security-related points. It was revealed that the police department has identified a total of 561 sensitive locations to enhance the safety of women, children, and residents. The proposal includes the installation of 1,949 CCTV cameras at these locations.
Additionally, the first phase of the project includes plans to install emergency buttons at 100 locations. However, following the presentation, CEO Krishna Karunesh directed several important amendments to further strengthen security measures. He instructed that the number of emergency buttons be increased to 147 locations. Furthermore, license plate detection cameras will be installed at 100 locations to facilitate the identification and monitoring of suspicious vehicles.
To improve traffic management and provide quick information to citizens, variable message sign boards will be set up at 20 locations. A public address system will also be installed at 418 locations for disseminating public announcements and emergency information. According to the Noida Authority, the implementation of the Safe City Project is expected to significantly enhance the city’s security infrastructure. The project will utilize advanced technologies to improve crime control, traffic management, and rapid response in emergencies, with a primary focus on the safety of women and children.
