UPSC Recruitment Update: Apply for Assistant Professor and Other Positions by May 15


New Delhi, May 9: A significant opportunity has emerged for those preparing to become government employees. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of a total of five positions, including Assistant Professor, across various departments.

The vacancies are available in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, which includes one post of Scientist-B (Mechanical) at the National Testing Centre and one post of Scientific Officer (Non-Destructive) at the National Testing House. Additionally, there are two posts for Superintending Archaeological Engineer at the Archaeological Survey of India under the Ministry of Culture, and one position for Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering (Surveying) at the Military Engineering College in Pune.

The online application process commenced on April 25, and the last date to submit applications is set for May 15. Eligible and interested candidates can submit their application forms on the official website until 6 PM on the deadline day.

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Physics from a recognized institution or university, a BE/BTech in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering, a BE/BTech in Electrical/Mechanical/Metallurgy Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, along with an ME/MTech in Civil Engineering (Geoinformatics/Geoinformatics and Surveying Technology). Additionally, candidates must have the required years of experience in the relevant field and other necessary qualifications and skills.

The maximum age limit for candidates is set between 33 to 40 years, depending on the position. Age will be calculated based on the last date of application, with relaxation provided for candidates from reserved categories as per regulations.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on shortlisting according to qualifications and experience, a recruitment examination (if conducted by UPSC), interviews, and the final merit list. Selected candidates will receive salaries according to the 7th CPC pay matrix levels 8, 10, and 11, as well as academic level 10.

While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online according to their category. The application fee for male candidates from the General/OBC category is set at ₹25, while candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Disabilities, and women are exempt from the fee.

After registering, log in and fill in all the required information in the application form. Upload all requested documents in the correct format, pay the application fee, and submit the form. Finally, keep a copy of the application form for future reference.
