Rajasthan weather update : Churu Sizzles at 43°C, Hailstorm Hits Hanumangarh | Udaipur Kiran

Jaipur, April 18 (Udaipur Kiran): Parts of Rajasthan witnessed fluctuating weather conditions on Friday, with intense heat in some areas and rain accompanied by hailstorms in others.

According to the Meteorological Centre Jaipur, temperatures across the state are likely to rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the coming days as clear weather and strong heat conditions prevail.

On April 17, the impact of a Western Disturbance led to light rainfall and dust storms in several districts, causing temporary fluctuations in temperature. Churu recorded the highest temperature at 43°C, while cities like Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Pali saw a slight drop in temperatures.

Rain and Hail Damage Crops

In the last 24 hours, districts including Hanumangarh and Churu experienced cloudy conditions since morning. By afternoon, strong winds, rain, and hailstorms were reported in some areas.

The sudden change in weather caused damage to harvested crops in fields. Produce kept in open mandis was also affected due to rainfall. Despite cloud cover in parts of Churu, clear skies in the headquarters region led to intense sunlight and rising heat, making it the hottest location in the state.

Cloud Cover Brings Little Relief

Due to the western disturbance, districts such as Jaipur, Bharatpur, Dausa, and Tonk witnessed partly cloudy skies during the day. However, this did not bring significant relief from the heat, and skies cleared again by evening.

Temperature readings in key cities included:

  • Ajmer: 39.1°C
  • Bhilwara: 39.2°C
  • Udaipur: 39.5°C
  • Nagaur: 38.5°C

The weather department has indicated that heat conditions are likely to intensify in the coming days across most parts of the state.
