Jaipur, April 17 (Udaipur Kiran): On the occasion of the 77th Foundation Day of the Rajasthan Police, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma honoured three individuals for their selfless service and outstanding contribution to society.
Recognising the role of citizens who actively support police work in disaster management, crime prevention, public safety, and social welfare, the department felicitated these unsung heroes during the cultural evening of the समारोह. The initiative aimed to encourage such efforts and inspire others to contribute towards building a safer society.
DGP Sharma emphasised that true service does not depend on a uniform, and with the right intent, anyone can bring meaningful change to society. He highlighted that strong cooperation between the police and the public forms the foundation of a secure and sensitive state.
The three individuals honoured with state-level commendation certificates were Prakash Prajapati from Sirohi, Sujeet Kashyap (also known as Ram Kashyap) from Jhalawar, and Sindhu Binujit from Udaipur.
Prakash Prajapati (Sirohi): Prajapati has dedicated the last 27 years to humanitarian service, assisting police and administration in critical situations. He has transported 1,584 unclaimed and accident victims’ bodies free of cost and ensured their last rites with dignity. During the pandemic, he performed the last rites of 360 COVID-positive deceased individuals when many hesitated to come forward. He has also pledged body donation and inspired 19 others to do the same.
Sujeet Kashyap (Jhalawar): Known for saving lives in critical situations, Kashyap rescued an abandoned newborn during the severe winter of December 2025 and ensured medical care and legal protection. He has consistently assisted accident victims, supported emergency situations during public events, and helped critically ill patients reach hospitals. During the 2022 floods, he risked his life to evacuate 15–20 families to safety.
Sindhu Binujit (Udaipur): Serving as a divisional child safety advisor, Binujit has contributed significantly to child protection and community policing initiatives. Her innovations, including child-friendly police stations and safe school initiatives, have become examples across the Udaipur range. Through interactive outreach, she has helped bridge the gap between children and the police. In collaboration with UNICEF, she has also played a key role in curbing child labour and migration in cotton-growing regions.
The DGP described their efforts as exemplary and a source of inspiration for the entire state, reiterating that policing extends beyond law enforcement to building trust and cooperation with society.
