Village Officer Caught Taking Bribe in Jhalawar | Udaipur Kiran

Jaipur, April 15 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti Corruption Bureau Rajasthan on Wednesday caught a village development officer red-handed while accepting a bribe in Jhalawar district.

The accused, Rajni Meena, posted at Gram Panchayat Mau Borda under Khanpur Panchayat Samiti, was arrested while taking Rs 10,400 from the complainant.

According to officials, the complaint was filed on April 10, 2026. The complainant, associated with a social organisation, stated that a mass marriage event involving 26–27 couples was organised in February without any government financial support. After the event, issuing marriage certificates to the couples was required as part of the legal process.

The complainant alleged that Rajni Meena demanded Rs 500 per certificate and later agreed to Rs 400 per certificate, seeking a total bribe of Rs 10,400 for issuing certificates for 26 couples. The complainant was asked to bring the money along with documents on April 15.

After verification of the complaint, the ACB team laid a trap. Under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General Om Prakash Meena and led by Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Prerna Shekhawat, the team caught the accepting the bribe amount.

Officials said interrogation of the accused is underway and a search of her residence is being conducted. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
