Udaipur, April 5 (Udaipur Kiran): The Water Resources Department carried out an inspection of the ongoing construction of canals linked to Udaysagar Dam and the Bagolia feeder under the state government’s budget announcements.
Additional Chief Engineer Virendra Singh Sagar reviewed the progress, quality, and implementation of the works as per the scheduled timelines. He directed officials and the executing agency to maintain construction quality, ensure regular testing of materials, and complete the project within the stipulated time.
During the inspection, officials informed that the Bagolia feeder is being developed to resolve irrigation issues in the Mavli region. Once completed, the project will provide irrigation facilities to around 3,676 hectares of land across nearly 17 villages and will also help improve drinking water supply in the area.
The inspection also covered the renovation work of canals connected to Udaysagar Dam, which is being funded by JICA. Upon completion, the work is expected to reduce seepage during the Rabi irrigation season and ensure timely water supply to tail-end areas.
The Additional Chief Engineer also instructed strict compliance with safety standards at the site and called for continuous monitoring of the work. Executive Engineer Mohit Patidar, Junior Engineer Ajay Singh Gurjar, and representatives of the executing agency were present during the inspection.
