New Delhi, April 5: The ninth match of IPL 2026 took place on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a narrow victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) by just six runs, propelling them to the top of the points table. This win marked RR’s second victory in the season’s second match.

Delhi Capitals currently hold the second position in the table, having won both of their matches this season. Punjab Kings are in third place after winning their initial two games.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has played one match, winning it and sitting in fourth place. Sunrisers Hyderabad has played two matches, achieving one win and one loss, placing them fifth with two points. Mumbai Indians are in sixth place with one win and one loss from two matches.

Gujarat Titans, having lost both of their opening matches, are positioned seventh. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) sit in eighth place after losing their only match. Kolkata Knight Riders are ninth, having lost both of their initial matches, while Chennai Super Kings are at the bottom in tenth place, also losing both of their games.

Despite having the same points, several teams have fluctuated in their rankings due to net run rate, which is the basis for the standings. The points table is subject to change after each match.

Two matches are scheduled for Sunday, with the first match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad, starting at 3:30 PM. The second match will feature Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) facing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, at 7:30 PM. CSK, having lost both of their opening matches, will be looking for their first win of the season against RCB on their home ground.
