Udaipur, March 18 (Udaipur Kiran): An entrepreneurship-oriented programme was organised by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) under the placement cell of the College of Community and Applied Sciences, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology. Around 200 students participated in the event.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about startups, government schemes and self-employment opportunities.
Dean Dr. Dhriti Solanki emphasised that such initiatives motivate students not only to seek jobs but also to become entrepreneurs and move towards self-reliance.
Assistant Director Ganesh M. informed students about MSME schemes, stating that under a two-tier scheme, idea-based startups can receive financial assistance of up to ₹20 lakh, while loans of up to ₹50 lakh are available for setting up enterprises. He also shared details about PMEGP and other government schemes.
Highlighting emerging opportunities, he said equity funding, hackathons and competitions play a key role in promoting innovation among youth.
Entrepreneur Ankit Jodhawat spoke about career prospects and challenges in the export-import sector, while bank officer R.K. Sood encouraged students to become job creators instead of job seekers.
Placement cell in-charge Dr. Kamla Mahajani urged students to take advantage of government schemes and convert their ideas into successful businesses.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Vishakha Singh, while Sumita Meena delivered the vote of thanks.
