Mumbai, February 14: Actress Mrinal Thakur is currently busy promoting her upcoming romantic film ‘Do Diwane Shehar Mein’, where she plays the character of Roshni. In a recent conversation, Mrinal revealed that she finds many similarities between her real life and her character, particularly in certain aspects.

Mrinal shared, “When director Ravi Udaywar narrated the story, he beautifully mentioned that Roshni always tries to hide behind the scenes. There have been many moments in my life where, despite knowing the answers, I chose to remain silent. This is what connects me most with Roshni. Many people appear confident on the outside, but feel weak inside.”

She further explained that this film is particularly special to her because characters like Roshni and Shashank (played by Siddhant Chaturvedi) struggle with insecurities and self-doubt in real life. They possess talent and capability but often underestimate themselves, comparing themselves to others or feeling inadequate. They tend to hold themselves back.

Hinting at her and Siddhant’s characters, Mrinal said, “We fear making mistakes and feel embarrassed about being humiliated. However, in this film, both characters support each other and break through various obstacles.”

Mrinal, who gained fame from ‘Sita Ramam’, expressed special gratitude towards her father, stating that he has always stood by her, no matter the stage. Just like in the film, where Roshni stands by Shashank and vice versa, her father taught her that she is often her own biggest obstacle to progress.

The upcoming film tells the story of two young individuals searching for love and self-acceptance in Mumbai. It is an imperfect yet touching love story.

‘Do Diwane Shehar Mein’ is set to release in theaters on February 20.
