Jaipur, January 30 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough, the RAJASTHAN Police Intelligence has arrested a local युवक from the Pokaran area of Jaisalmer district on charges of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence. The accused has been found involved in sending sensitive and strategically important confidential information related to the Indian Army across the border.

Revealing the case, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Prafull Kumar said that Pakistani intelligence activities are under continuous surveillance in the state. During this process, intelligence inputs indicated suspicious activities of Jhabraram, son of Bhana Ram (28), a resident of Nedan village under Sankra police station limits in Pokaran. Technical investigation confirmed that the accused was in constant contact with Pakistani handlers through social media platforms.

Interrogation and technical examination of the accused’s mobile phone led to several serious revelations. The Pakistani agencies allegedly trapped Jhabraram through a honeytrap and monetary inducements, following which he began sharing sensitive information related to the Indian Army. Investigations further revealed that he provided the OTP of his SIM card to Pakistani handlers, enabling them to activate WhatsApp for use in anti-national activities.

ADG Kumar stated that once suspicion was confirmed, the accused was brought to the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur. He was jointly interrogated by Rajasthan Police, Military Intelligence, and other security agencies. After the offence was established, Rajasthan Intelligence registered a case under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and formally arrested him on Friday, January 30.
