UP CM Cancels Assistant Professor Exam Over Irregularities

Lucknow, 7 January – The uttar pradesh Government has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting recruitment and selection processes in a free, fair, transparent, and clean manner. Keeping the bright future of candidates in mind, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a significant decision to cancel the Assistant Professor examination.

According to reports, complaints of irregularities, fraud, and illegal money collection surfaced regarding the Assistant Professor recruitment exam held in April 2025 under Advertisement Number 51 by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, Prayagraj. Based on these complaints, the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh received information and, considering the seriousness of the matter, the Chief Minister ordered a confidential inquiry.

During the investigation, the STF arrested three accused—Mahboob Ali, Baijnath Pal, and Vinay Pal—on 20 April 2025. They were involved in creating fake question papers and cheating candidates. A case has been registered against them at Vibhuti Khand police station, Lucknow, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code 2023.

In interrogation, the main accused Mahboob Ali admitted to leaking question papers of various subjects during the moderation process and providing them to several candidates in exchange for money. The STF’s detailed investigation and data analysis have corroborated his confession.

The inquiry also revealed the names of other suspicious candidates and individuals. Cross-verification with the commission’s data confirmed that the integrity of the exam had been compromised.

Considering all these facts, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the cancellation of the Assistant Professor Exam. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has been directed to conduct the examination again at the earliest, ensuring complete fairness and transparency to safeguard the future of the candidates.
