The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully brought back a key member of the notorious lawrence bishnoi gang from the United States to INDIA, in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to an official statement by the CBI, Aman, also known as Aman Kumar or Aman Bhainswal, a wanted fugitive, was extradited from the USA and arrived in India on Wednesday, 7 January.
Upon arrival at Delhi airport, a team from the Haryana Police took Aman into immediate custody.
Aman is a notorious criminal and a prominent member of the Lawrence Bishnoi organized crime syndicate. Haryana Police have been seeking him in connection with multiple serious criminal cases, including murder, rioting, and criminal conspiracy.
The CBI stated that Aman was previously arrested in India for these offences but was later granted bail. However, he failed to appear for trial hearings and subsequently absconded. Haryana Police then approached the CBI to seek international assistance in apprehending him.
Acting on the request, the CBI successfully obtained a Red Notice against Aman through Interpol.
Based on international coordination and intelligence inputs, Aman’s location was traced to the United States, leading to his eventual extradition.
The CBI explained that Interpol Red Notices are circulated worldwide to help law enforcement agencies track and locate fugitives wanted for serious crimes.
The agency further highlighted that over 150 wanted criminals have been brought back to India in recent years through sustained coordination using Interpol, reflecting India’s firm efforts to clamp down on international crime networks and bring fugitives to justice.
