NIA Custody of Two Red Fort Blast Accused Extended Till December 26

New Delhi, December 19 (Udaipur Kiran) – The Patiala House Court in Delhi has extended the National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody of Shoaib Ali and Dr. Naseer Bilal Malla, accused in the Red Fort blast case, until December 26. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna issued the order to prolong their custody.

The court had earlier extended their custody until December 19. Shoaib Ali, a resident of Faridabad, is alleged to have sheltered the suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi involved in the Red Fort attack. Dr. Naseer hails from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir.

So far, the NIA has arrested nine accused individuals in connection with the case, all of whom remain in custody. The agency is interrogating them to uncover the full conspiracy behind the attack. On November 18, the Patiala House Court sent Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, a close aide of suicide bomber Dr. Umar Nabi, to 10 days of NIA custody. Danish was arrested from Srinagar.

According to the NIA, Danish made technical modifications to a drone and attempted to manufacture rockets before the car bomb explosion. He played a key role alongside Umar Un Nabi in executing the entire conspiracy. Danish, a graduate in political science, was brainwashed by Umar to become a suicide bomber. In October 2024, he agreed to meet a doctor module at a mosque in Kulgam, after which he was taken to Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, to stay.

The blast occurred near the Red Fort on November 10, involving a car registered in the name of Aamir Rasheed Ali. The explosion claimed 13 lives and injured 32 others.
